Bayern Munich great Philipp Lahm may have made his name for his role as right-back, but not many knew that he started his career as a left-back. The German international has since then gone on to play in several positions, but has seldom disappointed.

In Pep Guardiola’s current set-up, the World Cup winning captain operates as a defensive midfielder and the Spaniard has hailed him as the “most intelligent player” he’s worked with.

Pace, stamina and precise tackling are some his traits and his small stature has earned him the moniker “Magic Dwarf”.
